On April 18, 2025, at the request of the Somali government, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) conducted an airstrike targeting ISIS militants southeast of Bosasso in the Puntland region of Somalia. The operation aimed to disrupt ISIS activities and support Somali efforts to stabilize the region.
